Menopause Consultation and care

Our care and support starts with you.

Our team have recognised a need to help women manage this challenging time by creating a dedicated team and care plan based around you and your experience. It involves 3 of our trained doctors helping you understand more, and empower you with a plan and strategies to manage the journey.

Our trained Menopause doctors

All of our GPs have been trained in Menopause care.  We do have 4 female doctors with a special interest in Menopause, you are welcome to book with them even if they are not your Enrolled doctor.

They are Dr Chloe Dearlove, Dr Emily Chapple, Dr Paula Cummings  and Dr Lois Fong and you can see any of these doctors for your specific menopause consultations.
If you are currently enrolled with any others in our team you can continue to see them regarding other issues and they will help manage your ongoing care beyond your initial consultations

There are small fees outlined below that enable us to spend the time with you, and ensure that your care is set up appropriately for you.

1 Pre appointment Symptom Score Card

To help you identify your symptoms and how they are affecting your lifestyle, you will need to complete a Symptom Score card.This is an important part of your appointment as it will help our doctors to understand you and how menopause may be affecting you. Please bring with you to your appointment.

2 Initial consultation 30 minutes*

The initial consultation will include an appointment with one of our menopause doctors
During the appointment, your they will go through the following information with you:

• Relevant medical and family history
• Your symptoms and what is happening for you
• Please bring your Symptoms Score card
• How is Menopause affecting your lifestyle
• You will be asked to get some blood tests to help us with your care

This information will help you and your GP work towards finding solutions that are good for you. This may include Menopause hormonal therapy, non-hormonal treatments and lifestyle advice.

This consultation will cost $150.00 and this will be added to your account to be paid before or on the day of consultation.

3 Follow up consultation 15 minutes

As part of providing support we will generally suggest a follow up appointment with your menopause doctor after 2-3 weeks, of your initial consultation. The appointment will be a good time to discuss how you are finding your current treatment plan and to make any adjustments and improvements as required.
These appointments can be phone consultations if requested.

This consultation will cost $65.00 or $19.50 for CSC holders, and this will be added to your account to be paid before or on the day of consultation.

4 Ongoing support

We recognise that while menopause lasts 12 months, your journey of peri menopause may well span several years either side of that, and that it is important that your care is managed through this time.
Your regular doctor that you see will manage your plan over the longer term in consultation with the menopause doctor that you saw initially.
